Kate Colleary is internationally recognised as one of the leading experts in the fields of Data Protection and Privacy. Kate is honoured to represent the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as its country leader in Ireland. She has recently been awarded the prestigious Westin Emeritus Fellow title, which recognises world leaders in data protection and privacy. Kate is a certified CIPP/E and CIPM professional and has been designated an IAPP Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) in recognition of her expertise and achievements in the privacy profession. She has also been awarded ‘Best in Data Protection’ by the Global 100 which recognises the world’s leading firms and individuals who are leaders within their chosen areas of specialisation.
Kate is a member of faculty at the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland and Kings Inn’s (law schools). She also a faculty member of IAPP, delivering CIPP/E, CIPM and AIGP training and is a member of the NIST Privacy Workforce Working Group (PWWG).
Kate gained an honors degree in law from Trinity College Dublin in 1995 and has been a qualified solicitor since 1999, working in large corporate law firms for almost three decades. Before founding Pembroke Privacy, Kate previously led the Data Protection team of a large international law firm.
